A quick and easy method for cooking perfectly crispy sausage patties in an air fryer. This technique works for both store-bought frozen patties and homemade ones.
Ingredients
- 8 sausage patties (store-bought or homemade)
- Cooking spray (optional)
- Equipment Needed
- Air fryer
- Tongs
- Paper towels
- Meat thermometer (recommended)
Instructions
For Fresh Sausage Patties
- Preheat air fryer to 370°F (188°C).
- If using homemade patties, form into:
- 2-3 inch diameter
- 1/2 inch thickness
- 2 oz portions
- Place patties in air fryer basket:
- Arrange in single layer
- Don’t overcrowd
- Leave space between patties
- Cook for 4-5 minutes.
- Flip patties with tongs.
- Cook additional 4-5 minutes until:
- Golden brown
- Internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C)
- No pink remains in center
For Frozen Patties
- Preheat air fryer to 370°F (188°C).
- Place frozen patties in basket:
- No need to thaw
- Arrange in single layer
- Leave space between patties
- Cook for 5-6 minutes.
- Flip patties.
- Cook additional 5-6 minutes until fully cooked.
Notes
- No additional oil needed usually
- Cooking times may vary by air fryer model
- Work in batches if needed
- Pat excess grease with paper towels before serving
